Join author Amy Shea at Memorial Mausoleum at Ararat Armenian Cemetery for the launch of her debut book, Too Poor to Die: The Hidden Realities of Dying in the Margins. Through intimate essays and fieldwork, Shea brings to light the stories of those who pass unnoticed, unhoused, unclaimed, and underserved. The afternoon will include a reading, conversation, and book signing with the author, accompanied by a live bagpiper, a brief memorial honoring those buried in the county cemetery, and a reception with baked goods alongside coffee and tea.
Books sold by Judging by the Cover bookstore.
In the spirit of collective care, we will also be accepting donations of new/packaged socks for Fresno Mission, a local organization providing services to individuals experiencing homelessness.
We also ask folks to please bring flowers for the ceremony portion of the event!
