Memento mori is a Latin phrase that means “remember you must die.” Death is an inevitable part of life, but society discourages us from confronting our own mortality. In this two-hour workshop, join trauma-informed meditation teacher Leah Raidt and death doula Becky Robison to acknowledge—and even welcome—death’s presence in our everyday lives. Join Whidbey Island Death Midwife Venessa Greenheron and practicing medium Larry Johnson for an afternoon experience designed to open the doors to creating ritual for, and communication with, our departed loved ones. This event will feature an opening grounding meditation; a presentation and guided discussion about reconnecting back to ritual in our dying spaces and grieving processes; and a session with a medium working to communicate with the loved ones you are longing to hear from.
