You know you should do it… but every time you sit down to do it, you end up doom scrolling, or even washing the dishes because ANYTHING is better than planning for a crisis. What is it with our brains shutting down and freaking out about planning for worst case scenarios? Talking about sex won’t make you pregnant – and talking about death and dying won’t make you dead. This is making sure our future self isn’t anxious: so that Future You is confident that things will work out the way I WANT them to.
Having a plan, having meaningful conversations outside of crisis is hard and heavy work, but Future You is so thankful already, and so is your family who will know what you want when you can’t speak up for yourself.
Let’s do this.
Let’s have a virtual admin hang-out and get this sh*t done! Print off the PDF from Advance Care Planning Canada: https://advancecareplanningontario.ca/acp/acp-workbook/download-a-workbook and let’s fill it out, together.
I’m here to hold space and answer questions, and if I don’t know the answer that’s ok I will do my best to find out – I’m not shy when it comes to talking about death and dying.
Grab a tea, have a snack, and let’s make our future selves happy we did this today.

Who would you trust to make your healthcare decisions?
Planning for your future healthcare needs is important. What would happen if you couldn’t decide for yourself? Who would you trust to make those healthcare decisions for you?
Think about who you would trust with making those important decisions for you.
Think about what matters most in your life and how that might help guide someone in making the kinds of healthcare decisions you would want.
The best time to think about this is now when you can decide for yourself. We have useful guides to help you along the way.
April 16th is Advance Care Planning Day. So, ask yourself: If not you, who?
