I know there is for me. It’s a both-and/two truths situation. Many of us make this choice for a lot of unfortunate\, depressing\, and/or systemic reasons\, and I created this space where we can be with our truths\, and hurts\, around it all. \nOur monthly peer-led Zoom group is intended to be a space for people who have chosen not to have children. It is not intended to be a child-loss support group or infertility support group\, although if you have prior experience with infertility and/or pregnancy loss and have since decided to not have children (meaning you are now childfree by choice) feel free to join and see if it’s a good fit.

DESCRIPTION:Grief Rest Stop\, for women experiencing grief and bereavement \nApril 19th – a special night just for women (trans women are women)\n6PM-8PM\n$49 \n6 spots only\nRegister at: https://calendly.com/ladydeathdoula/griefreststopwomen\n257 Danforth Ave\, The Plant Mystic\nToronto M4K 1N2 \nEmail ladydeathdoula@gmail.com for any questions\, or help booking. \nGrief Rest Stop \nlay down your grief and rest a moment\, led by women and women invited. \nLet’s let the weight we hold for grief rest a while and have a grief rest stop. \nMeet with Adrianna\, aka Lady Death Doula\, a death doula and grief educator\, and Esné\, a clinical hypnotherapist and reiki practitioner\, both who want to share resources and tools for you to metabolize your grief and help find ways to shed some of the heaviness that comes with grief. \nBYOB (bring your own blanket or pillow if you like)\nElectric fireplace and lit by candlelight for extra coziness\nGentle grief release meditation with reiki\nHot cup of chocolate or tea (for grounding)\nWhat to expect: \n1st hour: build a blanket fort with your fellow grievers and go through the storytelling of your loss; share where you are at in your grief journey and what/who/where you are grieving. And an introduction into Emotional Freedom Tapping (EFT) as a grief support tool led by Esné to ground into the space and the meditation. \n2nd hour: 40 minute guided meditation on releasing grief led by Adrianna; as Esné our reiki practitioner moves around the room while people relax and release sounds or movement they feel will help their grief release. \nLast 20 minutes: debrief\, ground with tea or hot chocolate \nemail ladydeathdoula@gmail.com for any questions \nYour facilitators:\nEsné is Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and Somatic Practitioner who offers grounded\, practical sessions focused on revealing and healing the subconscious self – otherwise known as the ‘shadow’. Using modalities such as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)\, channeling and hypnosis\, she guides sensitive people to heal old patterns and traumas\, and embark on a new chapter of spiritual evolution. Esné is a twice-certified Master in traditional and modern Usui Reiki\, and practices shamanic energy work\, in combination with Master Plant dieta retreats in the Peruvian Amazon. Esné has ongoing training with the Amazonian jungle ‘Master Plants’ within the context of the Shipibo shamanic tradition. She facilitates Ayahuasca retreats within Peru and abroad. Additionally\, she is deepening her work with the subconscious at the Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy\, licensed by the Department of Education in the US\, as she is a recent graduate as a Certified Transpersonal Hypnotherapist program. Adrianna’s brother Andrew died by suicide in 2010 and his death catipulated her life into death work and mental health advocacy: she became a suicide awareness trainer and interventionist. She toured her one-woman show Everything But the Cat… for 10 years about suicide loss and bereavement\, utilizing her storytelling background to create inclusive space to open a dialogue around death and dying. In 2019 Adrianna’s coworker Roberta asked if she wanted to go to Disneyland and South Korea to celebrate getting off chemo for stage four breast cancer; Roberta had a year to live and wanted a companion to get through her bucketlist and of course Adrianna said yes and embraced being a Death Doula for her friend. Holding liminal space and being comfortable in the discomfort has led Adrianna to become a hospice volunteer and grief counselor. She is currently in a fast-tracked Bachelor’s of Social Work to become a grief therapist to complement all the training she has done as a death worker. Her practice is anti-oppressive\, radically feminist\, and magically authentic to ensure she centers her companions where they are at on their care journey. DESCRIPTION:Queer Death Salon is a community space for all 2SLGBTQIA+ people to come together to discuss death\, dying and grief. It is a facilitated drop-in discussion space\, with the purpose of building connection\, skill\, and resources for 2SLGBTQIA+ people navigating end of life in our personal lives and in our communities. \nOur bodies\, lives\, and very beings are increasingly politicized.\nOur stories and histories are flattened\, made palatable for the sake of survival.\nOur unique grief becomes increasingly buried and unheard\, unshared.\nWhat makes it unique?\nWhat do we grieve?\nHow does that grief affect us?\nWhat prevents us from engaging with that grief?\nHow does our grief connect us and bring us together?\nFacilitator Imogen Reid is the last of the feral trans women\, a proud dirtbag\, degenerate\, and fuck up. She is a harm reduction advocate and educator\, a former founding member of Communities Organizing for Harm Reduction\, one of the first organized groups in Ottawa doing harm reduction before there were any safe sites. DESCRIPTION:Journal Club is excited to announce a Moment with Grief\, a special edition meeting all about grief! \nWe will be joined by the incredible Alexis from Death with Lex to guide us and welcome us to the world of grief. This meeting will follow our usual format of journaling\, mindfulness\, somatic practices but will have a focus on grief and all the things related to it. Remember that grief is NOT only about death\, so we will be exploring many different expressions of it. \nWhere will we be?\nThis month we are meeting around the fire at Dockweiler\, there is parking!! Parking is not free so I suggest carpooling…drop your neighborhood in the comments and see who you can link up with. \nWhat to bring?\nPlease bring a journal\, something to sit on\, water\, sunscreen and a writing utensil. We also highly encourage you to bring any comfort items such as a stuffy\, crystals\, whatever makes you feel safe : ) \nWho is Alexis?\nAlexis Hart\, a Los Angeles native\, is a seasoned death care professional with over a decade of experience across various facets of end-of-life and death care. Her extensive\nbackground spans mortuary and cemetery services\, medical examiner\, hospice\, and forensic pathology\, establishing her as a guiding light during families’ darkest moments.\nPassionate about nature\, Alexis seamlessly integrates its healing power into her work\, enhancing the support she provides to those in need. She blends ritual\, creativity\, and compassion to craft meaningful\, inclusive spaces where grief is honored as both personal and collective\, sacred and transformative.\nWith a deep commitment to inclusivity and healing justice\, she helps shape spaces where all stories are honored\, and grief becomes a portal for connection\, meaning\, and transformation. SUMMARY:"It's Complicated" Support Group
DESCRIPTION:A monthly peer-led Zoom group for people who had a strained relationship with someone who’s died. It can be tough to be in a group with other folks who were close with their parent\, sibling\, grandparent\, partner\, co-parent\, friend\, etc. As much as I like for there to be a range of experiences represented in grief groups\, so that we can hear diverse perspectives\, sometimes it is nice to be with people who “get it.” When addiction\, mental health challenges\, conflict\, estrangement\, abuse\, etc. were a part of the picture\, it can affect the grief journey in unique ways. This is a space for us.

DESCRIPTION:FREE TO ATTEND\nThursdays in October 2025\n6PM – 7PM\nRiverdale Park East – meet at St. Matthew’s Clubhouse\n450 Broadview Ave\, Toronto\, ON M4K 2N1\nClosest transit stop: Broadview Ave at Langley Ave-Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital \nJoin Death Doula & Soul Companion\, Adrianna Prosser aka Lady Death Doula\, for an hour long walk with grief\n*in partnership with InTO the Ravines – a Park People and City of Toronto supported event\nAutumn is a season when we embrace death and dying as we watch the leaves turn and the weather change\, and Mother Nature shows us how to die with grace. Each week learn about metabolizing your grief and how sound\, movement\, community\, and storytelling can alleviate symptoms and build capacity for holding your grief. In the final week we will learn about legacy and build a pop-up community memorial together. Come to share your grief aloud\, or come to be quiet and listen to the trees and be with others who understand where you are at in your grief journey. \nOctober 2nd: Storytelling – You are invited to bring a picture of the person\, place\, pet\, or anything that you are grieving. As we walk let’s share who or what they were to us. \nOctober 9: Movement – You are invited to walk in silence\, walk’n’talk\, listen to your earphones… as we walk together holding space for us and allow the trees help us metabolize our grief through shinrin yoku or “forest bathing”. Special guest James Johnson of Reiki with James \nOctober 16: Sound – You are invited to share a song that reminds you of your person\, place\, pet or anything that you are grieving. If you bring a bluetooth capable device to share it with\, a speaker will be made available for us all to hear your song. \nOctober 23: Community – As we walk through our grief\, you are invited to share who or what you have lost and find others in our group to walk with. Walk together even if you walk in silence\, walk’n’talk\, or walk with the trees holding space for your grief. Community helps us reflect and integrate our grief so we do not feel so alone within it. \nOctober 30: Legacy – As we walk through our grief\, you are invited to share how your grief metabolizes into acts of mourning\, ritual\, or legacy projects – things you do now as an act of love for your person\, place\, pet\, or anything you are grieving now. We will create a communal pop-up memorial together. \nThis is a peer-led community walk in public space.
