Marie-Louise Rouget is a South African digital archivist and a network scholar for the Cemetery Research Group (University of York). In 2023, she published a research article titled Grave concerns: the state of public cemetery records management in South Africa. In 2026, her research about the concept of "Heroes Acres" in South Africa's public cemeteries will be included in a publication focusing on issues of international Funerary Heritage for Boydell and Brewer’s Heritage Matters series. She also releases a a semi-frequent newsletter about death culture, cemeteries and the visual arts under the moniker Morbid Musings.
